Conference Ministry

In order to maximize ministry effectiveness, church planting efforts must be built upon the strong foundation of support and front line involvement of a network of established local churches. Recognizing that the strength of such a foundation depends upon the strength of individual local churches, Midwest Church Extension personnel are available, at the church’s invitation, for conference ministry. Foundation Conferences are designed for the purpose of strengthening, challenging and encouraging God’s people, from the Scriptures, in regard to a wide variety of areas related to Christian life and service.

MCE personnel work closely with church leadership to maximize the benefit of Foundation Conferences by tailoring the details of the conference to the specific needs of the local church.  The length of the conference, number of meetings, topics and the inclusion of women’s meetings are just a few of the ways your conference can be planned around particular church needs.

MCE Foundation Conferences are presented primarily by Henry Vosburgh and Tim Jeske (either separately or together). It is possible, however, to use them with additional MCE personnel in a variety of combinations. The following personnel are available for conference ministry in your church:

Henry A. Vosburgh
Executive Director

Timothy H. Jeske
Administrative Director

Dan Nave
Field Director/Plant Leader

Linda S. Jeske
Pastor’s wife for 28 years and mother of three.

Cheryl Nave
Pastor’s wife for 18 years and mother of three.

Foundation Conferences are available which address a variety of biblical themes relevant to the Christian life, the Church, church planting and growth etc. Below you will find a sample list of specific themes.

Awakening the Giant Within
Blessed are the Geeks
Church Gardening with Paul
Church Leadership 101
Ministry Development … Start to Finish
The Great Commission
The Last Days
Putting the Pieces of Vision Together
Successful Christian Service
The Harvest - Method, Motivation and Means

With adequate advance notice, special themes can also be developed for your church’s particular needs. Please feel free to discuss that option with primary conference personnel.

Technical Issues — Conference presentations are adaptable to the available technology and the preferences of the church. PowerPoint is generally an optional part of most of the presentations. MCE has the capability of projecting the PowerPoint slides if the church does not have that capability. MCE also has the capability of recording the sessions in digital format for reproduction if the church desires.

Scheduling — Scheduling a Foundation Conference involves two simple steps:

Check the MCE Staff Calendar to determine when the primary conference personnel (Jeske and/or Vosburgh) are available (indicated by empty dates on calendar).
Contact one or both of the primary conference personnel to discuss dates and themes.
